SUMMARY:Her Table: Healing from Compassion Fatigue
DESCRIPTION:Her Table is a shared meal that provides an opportunity for women to connect over good food and meaningful conversation. Dinner\, babysitting\, and all materials will be provided. Friends are always welcome! \nWorkshop Topic: Pouring from a Full Cup: Healing from Compassion Fatigue \nWe love deeply\, and we show up for everyone—our families\, our friends\, our communities–often without realizing how much of ourselves we’re pouring out along the way. Over time\, that constant giving can leave us feeling tired\, disconnected\, or even guilty for needing a break. This workshop is an invitation to pause\, breathe\, and remember that you deserve care\, too. \nThrough honest conversation\, reflection\, and hands-on activities\, we’ll explore how compassion fatigue shows up in our lives and how to restore balance\, boundaries\, and joy. By the end of this workshop\, participants will \n\nIdentify the warning signs and stages of compassion fatigue and burnout in their\ndaily lives.\nReflect on how their unique experiences influence how they show up as\ncaregivers.\nPractice grounding and journaling techniques that foster emotional balance and\nself-compassion.\nDesign a personalized Self-Care Map that helps them protect their energy and\nfind renewal.\n\nFacilitator: Donna Costa \nDonna Costa\, LMSW\, is a therapist\, speaker\, and published author with over 25 years of experience walking alongside individuals\, families\, and communities on their healing journeys. She is the founder of Black Girl Recovering\, LLC\, a compassion-centered space where women—especially women of color—explore mental health\, leadership\, and self-worth through storytelling\, sisterhood\, and radical care. \nDonna is known for her heart-forward approach to trauma\, self-care\, and emotional wellness\, blending clinical expertise with lived experience. Whether she’s facilitating a workshop\, writing her truth\, or holding space for others\, her work centers healing\, connection\, and the belief that joy still belongs to us. \nShe is a proud mother of 11\, grandmother of 2\, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and a master’s in social work from Smith College. \nDinner Provided\nVegetarian options will be available. \nSave the dates for all of our Her Table workshops! \n\nWednesday\, November 19th at 6:30 PM\nWednesday\, December 3rd at 6:30 PM\n\nFor Her Code of Conduct
