SUMMARY:Her Table: Mindful Mapping
DESCRIPTION:Art provides an accessible way for participants to express thoughts and emotions that may be difficult to communicate through words. Mindful Making is designed to support both mental well-being and community building by creating a welcoming\, low-pressure space where participants can step away from the stress of their daily responsibilities and focus on being present through creativity. By combining individual creative time with group reflection\, Mindful Making helps participants feel more comfortable expressing themselves\, connecting with others\, and building a sense of belonging within their community. \nThe Heart Mapping activity invites participants to visually explore the people\, places\, experiences\, values\, and memories that hold meaning in their lives. Participants create a personalized map within the shape of a heart\, using colors\, symbols\, words\, and images to represent what is important to them. This activity encourages self-reflection\, emotional expression\, and connection to the people and experiences that shape who they are. \n  \nFacilitator: Sydney Wiggins is a full-time college student with experience in art education. She is passionate about art as a tool for self-expression and reflection; thereby creating spaces that support mental well-being and meaningful community connections. In addition to teaching art and theater to young children\, she leads Mindful Making\, a college art group that incorporates creative prompts to guide participants through open-ended art making and reflection.

SUMMARY:CANCELLED-Her Circle: Queer Connections
DESCRIPTION:Looking for a safe\, cozy space to just be yourself? Join our intimate support group for queer women. This is a dedicated space for building genuine connection\, sharing our stories\, and ensuring everyone feels truly seen and valued. Whether we’re discussing chosen families\, workplace authenticity\, or holiday boundaries\, you always have a seat in our circle.   \nThis month’s session theme is Navigating Workplaces as a Queer Person \nThis group will meet offsite\, at a private residence\, and attendees will be notified of the location one week prior to the evening. \nLed by: Sarah Lopez \nSarah Lopez is a passionate advocate for queer women in San Antonio. After moving to the city a few years ago to embark on a career as a software engineer\, Sarah sought a strong sense of community and sisterhood. This journey led her to For Her\, a vibrant support group where connection thrives. Recognizing the need for solidarity among queer women\, Sarah took the initiative to spearhead the annual Pride events and the ongoing Queer Connections group at For Her. With a commitment to inclusivity\, Sarah aims to foster an environment where everyone feels uplifted\, seen\, and valued. Now\, as Sarah embarks on a new path by attending law school at St. Mary’s\, the goal remains the same: to empower and support the community.
