Through sharing lived experiences with others and engaging in various activities participants will reduce symptoms\, learn coping skills\, and help one another experience positive transformation. \nHer Circle: Wellness is led by counselor Susana Santillan\, LPC-S. Susana holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Community Counseling. With a passion for supporting survivors of trauma and abuse\, Susana has extensive experience facilitating groups and counseling individuals in both English and Spanish. \nSessions will be held at the For Her community center every Thursday\, June 13th through July 25th (with a break on the 4th of July holiday). From types of investments and strategies to risk and return\, we’ll talk about financial goals and explore how different investment options can help achieve those goals. Whether you’re brand new to investing or have already dabbled in the financial markets\, you’ll leave equipped with the knowledge to start making informed investment decisions. \nFacilitator: Capital Group \nWe’re honored to have Charline Webb\, Olivia Perez\, and Sally Holte from Capital Group join us to facilitate this Her Table! With nearly 50 years of finance experience between them\, our facilitators are eager to share their knowledge and expertise with the For Her community\, demystifying investment for the rest of us. \nCharline Webb is a lead Risk Management and Control Analyst at\nAmerican Funds. For the past 18 years at American Funds\, she has\nserved in multiple roles including Sales Representative\, Sr. Payment\nAdministrator and Compliance Specialist. Charline grew up in New\nHampshire where she graduated St. Anselm College with a bachelor’s\ndegree. Prior to working in the financial industry\, Charline spent 8 years\nin hotel management and later shifted careers and spent 9 years as a\nlitigation paralegal. Throughout Charline’s career\, she has taken\nleadership roles volunteering in the community. She is the leader of the\nWomen’s Community at Capital Group in San Antonio. She has served\nas the Governance Chair on the board for local non-profit Room Redux.\nShe is currently serving on the programming committee of For Her. \nOlivia Perez is currently a Learning Experience Designer at American\nFunds. For the past 10 years at American Funds\, she has served in\nmultiple roles including Client Services Representative\, Advisor\nMarketing\, and National Accounts Administrative Assistant. Olivia\nattained her bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas A&amp;M San Antonio.Throughout Olivia’s career journey she has taken active roles\nvolunteering in DE&amp;I communities. She was Outreach Pillar lead and\nSIFMA Lead for CG Unidos and communication coordinator of the NACG\nWomen’s Community in San Antonio. Olivia is based in San Antonio\,\nTX. \nSally Holte is a Divisional Retirement Plan Counselor with Capital\nGroup covering Texas\, Kansas and Louisiana. She has 18 years of\nfinancial industry experience and has been with Capital for 16 years. She\nstarted her career with Shareholder Services and the Advisor Marketing\nteam. She’s held several roles with our Sales Distribution team as a\nDefined Contribution Retirement Consultant\, Internal Wealth Specialist\ncovering South Florida and Orlando and later worked as a Retirement\nPlan Sales Consultant covering Minnesota\, Nebraska\, and San\nFrancisco. Most recently Sally worked closely with our Sales Force\nDevelopment team as a Sales Coach and with the Southeast Division as\na Site Sales Division Manager. Before joining Capital Group\, Sally was a\nFinancial Coach at Citigroup. During this workshop participants will engage in activities mirroring the Japanese art of Kintsugi\, including acknowledging past hurts\, creating a collage\, and brainstorming ways to transform challenges into strengths. Attendees will have the chance to create art and join a journaling activity inspired by Kintsugi\, reflecting on their healing journey. This session will foster a supportive environment for participants to share insights and personal experience\, focusing on healing\, strength\, and purpose. \nFacilitator: Jae Ricks \nWe’re honored to have Jennipha “Jae” Ricks facilitate this Her Table! Jae is an educational leader and innovator\, currently serving as the Founding Deputy Superintendent and Founding Chief Learning Officer at Essence Prep Public School. DESCRIPTION:In Her Circle: Wellness participants will have an opportunity to discuss topics such as depression\, anxiety\, anger\, grief\, stress\, and other themes related to mental health. This small group aims to cultivate an awareness of the fundamental reasons behind our struggles and emotional turmoil. Through sharing lived experiences with others and engaging in various activities participants will reduce symptoms\, learn coping skills\, and help one another experience positive transformation. \nHer Circle: Wellness is led by counselor Susana Santillan\, LPC-S. Susana holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Community Counseling. With a passion for supporting survivors of trauma and abuse\, Susana has extensive experience facilitating groups and counseling individuals in both English and Spanish. \nSessions will be held at the For Her community center every Thursday\, June 13th through July 25th (with a break on the 4th of July holiday). DESCRIPTION:Her Table is a shared meal that provides an opportunity for women to connect over good food and meaningful conversation. Dinner\, babysitting\, and all materials will be provided. Friends are always welcome! \nWorkshop Topic: Building Resilience Through Community \nIn this interactive workshop\, we will learn how mental health impacts the LGBTQ+ population. We will learn about the intersectionality of other identities we hold and how this shows up in our lives. After understanding the impact identities hold when navigating mental health\, we will explore the idea of neuroplasticity and healing through building community. We will learn about the impact community has on mental health\, especially LGBTQ+ community.  \nEveryone will have a chance to engage in an art activity to close the presentation. Using collage materials\, there will be 15 minutes given to creating a collage about what community means to them. Then we will use about 10 minutes to share at our tables what we created. We will leave empowered to continue fostering meaningful connections with others to continue our healing. \nFacilitator: Aryn Thompson\, LCSW-S \nAryn Thompson is a psychotherapist and owner of Lavender Space\, an inclusive therapy practice. Her Master’s in Social Work has helped her to become an advocate and understand the importance of resource connection. With experience in almost every type of mental health setting\, she has spent the last seven years dedicated to addressing the mental health disparities in her community. She started a therapy practice that specializes in providing queer-informed care to LGBTQIA+ people looking to improve their mental health. SUMMARY:Self-Care Sunday: Pride Kickoff Yoga & Brunch
DESCRIPTION:Join For Her for Self-Care Sunday to prioritize your mental and physical well-being and give yourself the care and attention you deserve. We’ll start our yoga class with some gentle grounding and building awareness in the body and mind. This will be a fun and dynamic asana flow inclusive to all bodies and levels of yoga. The practice will include elements of balance\, strength\, and mindfulness\, and end with an easeful transition into restoration. Following yoga\, we’ll have a light brunch (and mimosas!). Coffee and other non-alcoholic options will also be available. \nFacilitator Bio:\nAmanda Millette has been involved in San Antonio’s yoga community for over a decade. Her teaching journey began a little over four years ago\, and her practice has only continued to evolve and grow. She is passionate about providing yoga under the umbrella of social justice and creating spaces that are inclusive and accessible to all. \nWear comfy clothes and bring your water bottle and yoga mat if you’ve got one.
