SUMMARY:Her Table: A Values Driven Life with Michelle Ruiz-Deal
DESCRIPTION:Her Table is a shared meal that provides an opportunity for women to connect over good food and meaningful conversation. Dinner\, babysitting\, and all materials will be provided. Friends are always welcome! \nWorkshop Topic: A Values Driven Life \nIn our fast-paced world\, we often find ourselves living according to external expectations\, societal pressures\, or simply the momentum of daily routines. This workshop operates from the belief that each person possesses an inner compass—their core values—that can guide them toward a more fulfilling and authentic life. By slowing down to identify\, honor\, and actively integrate these values into daily decision-making\, participants can create lives that feel genuinely aligned with who they are at their deepest level. \nThrough guided reflection and creative expression\, participants will uncover values that may have been overshadowed by life’s demands. This isn’t about adopting “should” values or what looks good on paper—it’s about recognizing the principles that make you feel most alive and authentic. Next\, through visioning exercises and strategic goal-setting\, participants will design concrete ways to bring their values into their everyday reality. This includes addressing common obstacles and creating sustainable support systems. \nBy the end of this workshop\, participants will: \n\nHave clarity on 3-5 core personal values and understand how these show up in their daily life\nPossess a visual representation of their values-aligned future to serve as ongoing inspiration\nLeave with 1-2 concrete\, achievable goals that move them toward greater alignment\nFeel renewed connection to their authentic self and increased confidence in their personal direction\nHave experienced the support of other women on similar journeys of growth and self-discovery\nUnderstand practical strategies for making values-based decisions going forward\n\nThis workshop is particularly powerful for women who: \n\nFeel disconnected from their sense of purpose or direction\nAre at life transitions (career changes\, relationship shifts\, empty nest\, etc.)\nWant to make decisions with greater confidence and clarity\nDesire to live more intentionally rather than reactively\nSeek to align their daily choices with their deeper principles\nAre ready to move beyond “surviving” life to truly thriving\nWant to connect with other growth-minded women in a meaningful way\n\nFacilitator: Michelle Ruiz-Deal\, LPC-S\nMichelle Ruiz Deal\, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor\, established OnHealing Therapy in San Antonio\, Texas. Her journey has been marked by resilience\, and she has channeled her experiences into a deep commitment to supporting trauma survivors. Michelle’s work is driven by a passion to empower individuals navigating significant mental health challenges\, including trauma\, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)\, and anxiety. \nWith eight years of specialized experience in trauma therapy\, Michelle has built a practice dedicated to providing accessible and effective mental health care. Offering bilingual services\, she ensures that a broader community can access the support they need. Michelle actively works to destigmatize mental health\, fostering a supportive environment for those seeking help. \nBeyond her clinical work\, Michelle is a sought-after professional speaker for corporations\, universities\, and first responder teams By sharing her knowledge and insights\, she brings these vital conversations directly to those who can benefit the most. Her life exemplifies how personal challenges can be transformed into powerful tools for healing and empowering others\, creating a ripple effect of positive change in the community. \nDinner Provided by JPOT Japanese BBQ & Hot Pot\nVegetarian options will be available.

SUMMARY:Her Circle: Queer Connections
DESCRIPTION:Her Circle: Queer Connections is for queer women and nonbinary folks to share a space in which they can build meaningful connections and community. Join us as we facilitate queer joy through celebrating\, supporting\, and uplifting each other. \nSessions will be held at the For Her community center every 2nd and 4th Wednesday through December. No worries if you can’t make it for every group! Friends are always welcome. Snacks and drinks are provided; feel free to bring your own dinner! Please note babysitting is not provided for this gathering. \nFacilitated by Sarah Lopez & Hayley Russell \nSarah Lopez is a passionate advocate for queer women in San Antonio. After moving to the city a few years ago to embark on a career as a software engineer\, Sarah sought a strong sense of community and sisterhood. This journey led her to For Her\, a vibrant support group where connection thrives. Recognizing the need for solidarity among queer women\, Sarah took the initiative to spearhead the annual Pride events and the ongoing Queer Connections group at For Her. With a commitment to inclusivity\, Sarah aims to foster an environment where everyone feels uplifted\, seen\, and valued. Now\, as Sarah embarks on a new path by attending law school at St. Mary’s\, the goal remains the same: to empower and support the community.  \nAs a single parent for the past six years\, Hayley Russell has learned how to navigate life after leaving a decade-long abusive relationship and embracing her queer identity. During this pivotal chapter of her life\, For Her’s diverse groups gave her more than just support—they offered healing\, confidence\, and a sense of belonging she didn’t know she could find. Now\, Hayley is excited to give back by leading Queer Connections and helping others step into their own light. She is a fierce believer in the power of community\, shared stories\, and holding space for each other as we grow. Hayley’s hope is to offer the same care and connection that lifted her up when she needed it most. \nJoin Sarah and Hayley at Her Circle: Queer Connections in building a lasting sense of belonging! \nSave the date for future Her Circle: Queer Connections! \n\nJuly 23 – The Future Is Queer: Dreaming Forward\nAugust 13 – Activism\, Allyship & Community Engagement\nAugust 27 – Identity & Intersectionality\nSeptember 10 – Queer Joy & Self-Care\nSeptember 24 – Chosen Family & Support Systems\nOctober 8 – Gender Expression & Exploration\nOctober 22 – Coming Out(s): Stories & Evolution\nNovember 12 – Navigating Workplaces as a Queer Person\nDecember 10 – Family Dynamics and Boundaries

\nActivism\, Allyship & Community Engagement \nJoin us this week for a conversation on what activism can look like in your everyday life. Together\, we’ll explore meaningful ways to get involved and make an impact in your community. \n\nAugust 27 – Identity & Intersectionality\nSeptember 10 – Queer Joy & Self-Care\nSeptember 24 – Chosen Family & Support Systems\nOctober 8 – Gender Expression & Exploration\nOctober 22 – Coming Out(s): Stories & Evolution\nNovember 12 – Navigating Workplaces as a Queer Person\nDecember 10 – Family Dynamics and Boundaries\n\nFor Her Code of Conduct
