DESCRIPTION:Her Table is a shared meal that provides an opportunity for women to connect over good food and meaningful conversation. Dinner\, babysitting\, and all materials will be provided. \nMore Than the Birds and the Bees \nJoin For Her for an interactive workshop on healthy relationships and going back to some of the basics on sexual health. Whether you received these topics in school or had to do some of your own research\, this workshop is sure to get you talking and asking all the questions. We will unpack some of those common myths and facts of sexual health\, play games\, and learn helpful techniques that you can use in any relationship to aid in communication and sharing more of your own voice. \nWe invite people of any age to join us as oftentimes these are topics that we didn’t learn growing up or we received inaccurate information. This can be information you want for yourself\, or maybe you’re the parent\, a loving caregiver\, or just want to be that fun resource for a sister or friend. We’re so excited to hear from you and to have engaging conversations as we all learn together! \nPresented in partnership with Healthy Futures of Texas \nHealthy Futures of Texas (HFTX) is a statewide nonpartisan nonprofit organization that works to improve the well-being of young Texans through equitable access to sexual health education and resources. Many of us never had these conversations with a trusted adult when we were a pre-teen or teenager\, and it could feel awkward to try to begin this conversation now. We want all parents\, caregivers\, and trusted adults for young people to feel prepared on beginning those steps\, and to understand that it’s not just one “talk” but many conversations throughout life. \nThis workshop promises an engaging conversation\, interactive activities\, and take-away tips and things to practice after the session. Parents and trusted adults are the experts for their own child(ren)\, and we want to honor your experiences as we all share helpful information with the group. Savannah is a certified health coach who is passionate about helping women redefine what health means to them and gain body confidence in the body they already have. She hosts the Love Your Body Now podcast to open up the conversation for women about the skewed narrative within the diet and fitness industry and guides them to rewrite their own narrative.
