The session will end with reflection\, integration\, and rest\, allowing time to acknowledge any physical\, mental\, or emotional shifts. \nWear comfortable clothes and bring your water bottle and yoga mat.  \nSessions will be held at the For Her community center every Tuesday. Friends are always welcome. Free onsite babysitting is provided. \nFacilitator Bio: \nAmanda Millette has been involved in San Antonio’s yoga community for over a decade. The goal of this workshop is to provide both children and parents ways to keep children safe online. \nFacilitator: Felicia Avalos \nFelicia Avalos graduated from Texas A&M-San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science. She worked in the teaching profession for 10 years\, teaching elementary and middle school levels. During her career in education\, she spearheaded projects that helped children learn and grow. She also served as a team lead and advocated for fellow teachers. She later transitioned into the nonprofit sector\, where she is an Education Specialist at ChildSafe. She continues partnering with schools to promote child safety\, trauma-informed practices\, and a better future for all children everywhere. DESCRIPTION:Workshop Topic: Understanding ADHD in Women and Children \nThis workshop is designed to support mothers in better understanding Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in both themselves and their children. \nADHD is often misunderstood as simply a lack of focus; however\, it is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that impacts executive functioning\, emotional regulation\, motivation\, and daily life management. \nMost women are now being diagnosed in adulthood because they are learning about the disorder in thier children. For many women\, especially mothers\, symptoms may go unrecognized or misattributed\, leading to years of overwhelm\, burnout\, and self-doubt. \nThis session will provide a clear\, accessible overview of how ADHD presents in women and children\, including differences in symptoms across age\, gender\, and life roles. Participants will learn how ADHD may show up beyond traditional stereotypes\, including challenges with mental load\, emotional regulation\, organization\, and follow-through. In addition to this they will recognize when to seek assessment and treatment as well as what to do after diagnose\, whether for themselves or their children. \nFacilitator: Celina”Alexis” Lopez\, MS\, LPC-S \nCelina “Alexis” Lopez\, MS\, LPC-S\, is a therapist\, supervisor\, speaker\, and private practice owner with 20 years of experience. After training and performing in Los Angeles\, she returned to focus on bringing movement into communities that need it most.
