This interactive workshop is designed to equip you and the women in your life with essential safety knowledge and advocacy tools. Whether you’re seeking information for yourself or wanting to support someone you care about, this session provides practical resources every woman should know. What You’ll Learn:
- How to use digital tools to stay informed about offender status and research criminal histories in Bexar County and beyond
- Understand the protective order process, including evidence requirements and court proceedings
- Identify signs of tracking devices and what to do if you find one
- Recognize warning signs and develop safety strategies for yourself and your community

Facilitator: Erica Gonzalez
Erica Gonzalez is a domestic violence advocate with the Bexar County Public Health Department’s STAR program for survivors. Drawing from personal childhood experiences, she has dedicated her career to helping others navigate difficult situations. Gonzalez previously worked as a domestic violence advocate with the City of San Antonio for three years before joining Bexar County. With a criminal justice degree from Texas State University, she brings unique insight into the legal system that helps clients navigate complex processes and systems. Her combined personal and professional experience makes her a knowledgeable advocate for anyone seeking support.
