Her Table: Closing the Pay Gap Through Salary Negotiation with Malinda Gaul
Her Table is a shared meal that provides an opportunity for women to connect over good food and meaningful conversation. Dinner, babysitting, and all materials will be provided. Friends are always welcome!
Workshop Topic: Closing the Pay Gap Through Salary Negotiation
Women who work full-time take home about 83 cents for every dollar a full-time male worker is paid. The pay gap grows larger over time during a woman’s career. Unless things change, the pay gap will not close until 2106–that’s why women need to empower themselves with salary negotiation skills and work to change policies and employer culture.
In this workshop, learn how to research your target salary, highlight your accomplishments, and find the right words–and the confidence–to negotiate for better benefits and pay. Negotiating increases your potential to earn more and can make the difference in paying off loans, supporting your family, buying what you want and need, and saving for the future.
