Workshop Topic- Be You. Do You. Love You. For You: The Art of Self-Care & Self-Compassion

Together we will share a meal and conversation about the importance of self-care and self-compassion in our day-to-day lives. We will explore what makes you, you, and how you can best love and care for yourself. Self-care and self-compassion are essential elements for our overall health and well-being – emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually – especially in this fast-paced world. Let’s find some stillness, breathe deeply, connect, and nurture ourselves.

Facilitator: Shannon Kratky & Nancy Tamburo-Treviño

Shannon Kratky (she/they) is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Shannon specializes in the treatment of adults with complex PTSD, experiences with interpersonal violence, “complicated childhoods,” substance use, and LGBTQiA2S+ needs. They work from a neuro-affirming framework and celebrate neurodivergence. She firmly believes in annihilating the question of “What is wrong with you?” and, instead, asks, “What happened to you?” and “What is right about you?” She thoroughly enjoys connecting with others through teaching and collaboration and values opportunities to advocate for her fellow humans, as well as the counseling profession.

Nancy Tamburo-Treviño has been practicing the art of helping others heal for over 25 years. She holds licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. She has worked with non-profits in Texas, New York, and California, focusing on helping those suffering from substance use disorders, as well as a multitude of other stressful life situations. She also has expertise in facilitating and co-directing women’s and youth spiritual retreats.
