Her Table: Self-Compassion with Vanessa Gill
Her Table is a shared meal that provides an opportunity for women to connect over good food and meaningful conversation. Dinner, babysitting, and all materials will be provided.
We’re honored to have Vanessa Gill join us to facilitate this Her Table! Vanessa is a counselor who incorporates mindfulness, self-compassion, neuroscience, and attachment theories into her work. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, and groups. She holds master’s degrees in Counseling and Educational Psychology. Vanessa is pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at St. Mary’s University. Vanessa has a passion for helping others cultivate practices to feel less fear and shame and instead be more present to themselves and to their loved ones.
“Self-criticism asks if you’re good enough, self-compassion asks what’s good for you” -Kristen Neff
During Her Table on June 21st, we will learn about what self-compassion is, how it contributes to emotional wellness, and ways to develop self-compassion practices. We will also discuss mindfulness, including how to surf our own powerful and difficult emotions, as well as the three steps of the Self-Compassion Break.
