Her Table is a shared meal that provides an opportunity for women to connect over good food and meaningful conversation. Dinner, babysitting, and all materials will be provided.

The Lioness Within

A lioness is an emblematic representation of strength, courage, and leadership. She reigns supreme as Queen of the Jungle – so don’t underestimate her influence. As powerful and capable leaders, women deserve respect from others and should not fear speaking up for themselves and standing up for what they believe in. As the lioness cares for her cubs, we should also take good care in caring for ourselves. Eating healthful foods, sleeping enough hours each night, and engaging in regular physical exercise are all vital parts of wellness; surrounding ourselves with positive people who support us is also beneficial; finding activities we enjoy that bring pleasure is another crucial component to overall well-being. Regaining our power can be challenging; it requires courage and resolve, but ultimately the rewards can be significant: living our lives on our terms allows us to become happier, healthier, and more successful individuals. Here are a few more ways you can become like a lioness:

• Be confident. A lioness knows that she is the queen of the jungle, and she carries herself with confidence. We should do the same.
• Be fierce. A lioness is not afraid to fight for what she believes in. We should be the same.
• Be protective. A lioness fiercely protects her cubs. We should be protective of our loved ones and our dreams.
• Be nurturing. A lioness is a nurturing mother. We should be nurturing to ourselves and to others

Jae is the Founder & CEO of Jae Elle Consulting, LLC, which focuses on the education, leadership, and empowerment of women, and Elluvation, which focuses on strategic planning and project management. Jae currently serves on the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women and sits on the board of the African American Chamber of Commerce. She is a well-respected educator and leader, with a heart for growing other confident leaders. Believing passionately in the power of education, leadership, and empowerment of women and young girls is what drives Jae. She is also a dedicated mother, daughter, and friend.
