Creative Expression Through Oil Pastels with SAMA
Join us for another inspiring evening with our friends from the San Antonio Museum of Art. This workshop echoes one of SAMA’s current focus exhibitions, Renoir to Picasso: The Robertson Family Collection.
In this workshop you’ll learn about the museum and programs that they offer, highlight some pieces from the exhibition, and create oil pastel drawings on watercolor paper inspired by the work of Wassily Kandinsky. In this busy holiday season, what better way to practice self-care than by embracing your creativity?
The session will be facilitated by Nia Jaramillo and Kathleen Royster.
Nia Jaramillo is a poet and multimedia artist born and raised on the Southside of San Antonio. She’s worked as a Museum Educator at the San Antonio Museum of Art for over a year and enjoys sharing her passion for art and artmaking with the community.
Kathleen Royster is a San Antonio-raised arts educator and multimedia artist, with focus on analog paper collage and felt art. Kathleen finds great joy in cultivating a welcoming space that invites creative experimentation and artistic expression for all.
