Her Table: Building Resilience Through Community with Aryn Thompson, LCSW-S
Her Table is a shared meal that provides an opportunity for women to connect over good food and meaningful conversation. Dinner, babysitting, and all materials will be provided. Friends are always welcome!
Workshop Topic: Building Resilience Through Community
In this interactive workshop, we will learn how mental health impacts the LGBTQ+ population. We will learn about the intersectionality of other identities we hold and how this shows up in our lives. After understanding the impact identities hold when navigating mental health, we will explore the idea of neuroplasticity and healing through building community. We will learn about the impact community has on mental health, especially LGBTQ+ community.
Everyone will have a chance to engage in an art activity to close the presentation. Using collage materials, there will be 15 minutes given to creating a collage about what community means to them. Then we will use about 10 minutes to share at our tables what we created. We will leave empowered to continue fostering meaningful connections with others to continue our healing.
