Her Table: Parent Cafe (Nurturing Seeds to Grow Strong Families)

For Her is excited to partner with Child Safe for our Parent Cafe Series. Caregivers and their partners are invited to engage in conversations with other parents as we explore how to be more present for our families while also taking the time to take better care of ourselves. Each session in the four part series explores a different aspect of parenting. We invite you to participate in some or all of the sessions.

How often do you give yourself permission to reflect on those who positively affected you as a child? How did that modeling impact your child rearing decisions? Join the conversation with others as we learn from one another.

Facilitator: Felicia Avalos

Felicia Avalos graduated from Texas A&M-San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science. She worked in the teaching profession for 10 years, teaching elementary and middle school levels. During her career in education, she spearheaded projects that helped children learn and grow. She also served as a team lead and advocated for fellow teachers. She later transitioned into the nonprofit sector, where she is an Education Specialist at ChildSafe. She continues partnering with schools to promote child safety, trauma-informed practices, and a better future for all children everywhere. She remains dedicated to empowering families and strengthening communities through education and advocacy.
